To ensure sanitary safety in hotel and resort pools ahead of the summer heat, Baja California’s State Tourism Department and the State Commission for Protection Against Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS) held a training course on pool maintenance on Wednesday, May 21.

The session took place at Hotel Del Mar Inn and was led by COEPRIS representative Victoria Pennock.

Approximately 36 pool managers from various local hotels and resorts attended the training, including representatives from Hotel Palacio Azteca, INDEBC, Hotel Las Rocas, Rancho Guzmán, Rancho El Gran Cañón, Los Pelicanos, Hotel Festival Plaza, Bellafer, Popotla Home Mobile Park, Hotel Marriott, and City Express.

During her presentation, Pennock emphasized the crucial role pool managers play in ensuring the health and safety of swimmers.

The course focused on key regulatory guidelines and best practices for pool maintenance to safeguard users and maintain high service standards.

This training initiative supports quality improvement and regulatory compliance within the region’s tourism sector.
