The Baja California state government has agreed to strengthen communication channels with business chamber representatives to promote a shared economic development agenda.

Following calls from business leaders to reclaim funds for development projects, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda directed her administration to deepen engagement with the private sector to jointly address the region’s economic needs.

In a meeting led by Government Secretary Alfredo Álvarez Cárdenas, Economy and Innovation Secretary Kurt Ignacio Honold Morales, and Finance Secretary Marco Moreno Mexía, the parties agreed to establish permanent working groups to tackle key issues for the state’s economic growth.

A central item on the agenda was the review of the Baja California Business Development Trust (FIDEM), with a focus on improving transparency and ensuring alignment with the current needs of the productive sector.

“We in the state government strongly believe in the value of business sector participation in building Baja California’s future. These meetings are proof that we are open to listening, to dialogue, and above all, to working together for the wellbeing of our community,” said Álvarez Cárdenas.

He added that Governor Ávila Olmeda has instructed her team to maintain an open dialogue with the business sector in order to directly address its concerns.
