In a strategic collaboration between the municipalities of Tijuana and Rosarito, specialized training was conducted for the K-9 units of Rosarito’s Municipal Citizen Security Department.
This training was made possible through the support of expert trainers from Tijuana’s Municipal Police K-9 division, who hold certifications from various international organizations.
Rosarito officers met the key requirements to establish a proper K-9 unit, starting with qualified personnel and police service dogs. After passing the necessary tests, they formed canine-handler teams.
These K-9 teams are essential for ensuring safety and protection in specific situations.
The training aims to better prepare the K-9 units to detect illicit substances, locate missing persons, and prevent criminal acts, thereby strengthening public safety.
Police service dogs are invaluable tools, not only because of their specialized training but also due to the unique bond they develop with their handlers, who rely on them to navigate high-risk situations with confidence.
