Morelos library reopens after 5 years of closure
After five years of inactivity, the library in the Morelos neighborhood has been restored and reopened to serve the community.
Mayor Rocío Adame expressed regret over the prolonged closure of the library, emphasizing the pressing needs of the area. She criticized previous administrations for neglecting the facility, calling its disuse a wasted opportunity to provide essential services to the community.
Adame reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to restoring all public spaces available to residents, with a focus on reviving culture and sports, which she noted had been largely overlooked in the past. “It’s better to act than to merely talk about being a humanistic government,” she said, underlining her goal of creating meaningful change.
The reopening of the library reflects the municipal administration’s dedication to improving the quality of life for Rosarito residents by offering valuable services to children, young people, and adults.
During the reopening ceremony, Mayor Adame highlighted the importance of rescuing public spaces and providing citizens with places where they can learn and grow.
The restored library will now host a variety of services, including workshops and recreational and educational activities for all age groups. In collaboration with the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA), the library will also offer courses and tutoring to help adults complete their studies.
Notably, the library will be managed by Mrs. Graciela, a beloved figure in the community and one of the founders of the Morelos neighborhood.
