Rosarito offers a wide range of dining options for both visitors and locals. As a result, there have been no reported closures of restauraants, unlike in Tijuana.
This was stated by Octavio Machado, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Food Industry (CANIRAC), who mentioned that it has been a positive month thanks to favorable weather conditions and the peso-dollar exchange rate not being a limiting factor for Southern California residents to visit Rosarito.
“It’s been a summer that has stretched a little longer,” he said. “Weekends have been good, and within the chamber, we have no records of restaurants closing due to declining sales.
“The situation has remained stable, and I believe this is partly because Rosarito has a solid gastronomic offering, not just for people from Tijuana or Southern California but also for the locals.”
“The local economy has strengthened in the past month despite the challenges,” he noted.
