The Rosarito-Puerto Nuevo Half Marathon has received international certification from World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
This certification enhances the event’s appeal to runners from various states in Mexico and other countries, confirming that the race course has been measured and accredited by an international assessor.
César Rivera González, President of the Rosarito Tourism and Conventions Committee, announced that this certification from World Athletics will benefit the city by attracting more national and international runners to the event.
The international certification officially verifies the distance of 21.0975 kilometers between the start and finish points. This certification was achieved in collaboration with AIMS and is valid for five years, provided that the measured route remains unchanged.
The half marathon will resume in November, and this year’s event will be dedicated to Rosa María Plascencia Díaz, the founder of the race and a tireless promoter of tourism in Puerto Nuevo.
