The conference “Women in Charge: The Effective Secret of Female Political Leadership” was presented in the Casablanca Hall of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, led by psychologist Mayte Padilla, who urged attendees to become leaders in their communities.
The event also featured the discussion “Experiences of Female Leaders,” with participation from elected Mayor Rocío Adame, writer Rosa María Ramírez, and the state president of real estate agents, Thania Montalva Álvarez.
All were invited by Master Laura Torres Ramírez, who continues to promote leadership through the State Network of Women Lila.
During the discussion, the guests spoke about the challenges they have faced in their efforts to be agents of social and political change and how their personal backgrounds have influenced their ability to attain significant positions within public and private institutions.
Writer Rosa María Ramírez noted that while she does not consider herself a politician, she is proud to have founded the first kindergarten and library in the municipality.
She views the title of social or political leader as a baton she passes to her children, whom she considers good people.
In contrast, the elected mayor acknowledged that although she does not see herself as a politician, Ramírez’s actions have been an example of political and, above all, social leadership.
The elected mayor also discussed the challenges she has faced in her political career, and the other guests shared their experiences in their professional lives.
