Firefighters advise people to inspect their gas installations to prevent explosions or fires, similar to those that have occurred in recent days. They pointed out that negligence and poor condition of gas systems are the primary causes of fires, mainly due to leaks.
This past weekend, a gas leak from a 10-kilogram cylinder caused an explosion in a home in Primo Tapia. A 70-year-old man was cooking when the explosion occurred due to the leaking gas cylinder.
Fortunately, the fire caused only minor damage to the hose and burner, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters recommend that the public regularly check their gas installations and cylinders for leaks, as these are the leading causes of fires.
The greatest risk is for elderly people living alone, as any oversight could result in a tragedy.
