With a stunning seaside performance by the renowned Tikos Big Band, the Rosarito Beach Hotel marked its 101st anniversary on Saturday, July 19.

The hotel’s lush oceanfront gardens were transformed into an elegant venue for a grand celebration that included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque designating the hotel as a site of cultural heritage.
As the sun set over the Pacific, the evening came alive with lights that illuminated the greenery, creating a dreamlike atmosphere under a warm summer sky. Friends, family, local residents, American visitors, and the general public joined the Torres family to celebrate another milestone for the landmark hotel, a legacy built by the late Hugo Eduardo Torres Chabert.
The music drew the attention of hotel guests and tourists strolling along the Rosarito promenade. Many paused at the upper-level Café en el Muelle, enjoying warm drinks as they took in the concert’s opening notes from above.

As the Tikos Big Band played on, the mood turned festive. Couples danced beneath the stars, and the performance quickly evolved into a romantic evening for many in attendance.
Hugo Antonio Torres Ramírez, president of the hotel’s board of directors, led the celebration and expressed pride in continuing the work of his father. He also thanked Alma Delia Abrego Ceballos, Baja California’s Secretary of Culture, for unveiling the cultural heritage plaque, as well as the guests, family, and friends who helped mark the occasion.
