India, the filly who suffered second- and third-degree burns covering a large portion of her body and eyes, is now in the final stage of recovery after 40 days of intensive care.

According to Cuadras Veterinary Clinic, India is progressing well despite the severity of her injuries.

She was one of the animals affected by a large-scale fire in January in the town of Primo Tapia.

Following the fire, she was at risk of losing three hooves and developing laminitis. Fortunately, her eyes have healed significantly—her right eye has fully recovered (100%), while her left eye has regained 90% of its function, thanks to treatments using lyophilized amniotic membranes from EquusCell RestorMune. The clinic stated that these treatments have been crucial in tissue healing and regeneration.

Although India lost weight, veterinarians confirmed that she has overcome the critical phase and is now in the final stretch of recovery.

The clinic expressed gratitude to Dr. Tammy Epp, Dr. Andy Giccioni, and everyone who helped raise funds for India’s initial treatment, as well as those who have continued to follow her recovery journey.
