The administration of Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz has made a serious commitment to supporting education and promoting reading habits among younger generations, according to Ilse Rodríguez Ramos, head of the Municipal Welfare Secretariat.
As part of a broader initiative to encourage reading and community inclusion, the Municipal Public Library “Octavio Paz” has been fully rehabilitated, after having been left in total abandonment by previous administrations.
Rodríguez Ramos explained that the project, which is part of the Library Improvement Program, has also transformed the space into an accessible venue for people with disabilities.
“The library was redesigned with universal accessibility standards, reflecting our mayor’s commitment to providing safe, dignified, and inclusive spaces for children, people with disabilities, seniors, and the entire community,” stated Rodríguez Ramos.
The Secretary of Social Inclusion and Gender Equality, Rebecca Vega Arriola, praised Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz for her leadership in implementing actions that ensure public spaces are accessible to all.
This project not only enhances the urban environment but also benefits over 1,300 people, including local residents and students from nearby schools.
Mothers present at the reopening expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the opportunity this space provides for students to expand their knowledge.
With this renovation, the Octavio Paz Library has been transformed into a safe and welcoming space, where residents can participate in various educational and recreational activities.
