In a community outreach effort in southern Rosarito, members of the Pro-Municipality Committee convened at the Ejidal Hall in Primo Tapia.

With over four decades of activity, this group of dedicated citizens was founded with a clear goal: to elevate Rosarito to municipal status. “The fight continues in this new era for a model municipality,” emphasized Nancy Hernández, president of the Pro-Municipality Committee.

The session was hosted by Erick Castellanos and attended by Jaime Peña, current municipal delegate in Mayor Rocío Adame’s administration.

One of the committee’s primary objectives is to foster identity, heritage, and historical knowledge among younger generations of Rosarito residents.

The Commission on Education, led by Professor Conchita de Acosta, actively promotes these values to local youth through various platforms.

The meeting also welcomed former municipal delegate Ignacio Peña and visual artist Carlos Delgado, who is a passionate advocate for the region’s rich biodiversity.

The gathering concluded with the sharing of Rosca de Reyes and a celebration honoring the birthday of José Ciprés Tinoco, secretary of Rosarito’s iconic Pro-Municipality Committee.
