The Rosarito city government carried out its first security outreach event in the community of Venustiano Carranza, located in the southern area of Primo Tapia, on the morning of Saturday, November 8.
Law-enforcement agencies from all levels of government participated in the operation, including the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Playas de Rosarito, the National Guard, the Mexican Navy, and the Municipal Citizen Security Department led by Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba.
The visit comes after the most recent meeting between municipal authorities and the local business sector, during which Juan Santana Bosquet, president of Rosarito’s Economic Development Advisory Council, challenged Security Secretary Manzo Ruvalcaba to conduct a patrol and maintain a permanent presence in Venustiano Carranza—an area known for criminal activity.
Within days, the municipal government fulfilled the request and organized a walk-through of the area, with Santana Bosquet joining the operation.
During the visit, Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz emphasized the importance of collaboration between residents and authorities to continue building safer, healthier communities.
“It’s essential to work hand in hand with the people, to listen to their needs and understand the reality of each neighborhood. Only then can we strengthen prevention strategies and offer real solutions,” Adame said, noting that priority actions are reviewed weekly in the Municipal Security Committee.
As part of the outreach, officials distributed informational flyers with QR codes directing residents to the State Attorney General’s Office to file formal reports. They also promoted the use of the municipal security button, a rapid-response tool for emergencies or incidents of violence.
Authorities also highlighted the work of the Patrulla Violeta (Purple Patrol), a municipal unit dedicated to supporting and protecting women.
Mayor Adame announced that the city will continue visiting the neighborhood to address specific concerns, including improvements to public transportation service.
At the same time, the Community Wellness Fair was held at the Venustiano Carranza preschool, where municipal and state agencies provided services, set up assistance booths, and distributed basic food baskets to families.
