- Preventive education will reach 700 students across four local schools
The Secretariat of Education, in coordination with the Secretariat of Citizen Security, has launched the D.A.R.E. preventive education program for elementary school students.
The opening ceremony took place at the Constitución de 1917 Elementary School and was led by the local Education Delegate, Juan Carlos Huerta Ávila, who emphasized the importance of strengthening prevention programs in schools throughout the municipality, highlighting close collaboration with the City of Rosarito.
“The collaboration between government departments aims to deliver meaningful messages to students—helping them face challenges that may arise and, most importantly, prevent addiction. This is a key priority for the Secretariat,” said Huerta Ávila.
The D.A.R.E. talks will be held in four elementary schools, reaching more than 700 students with clear and practical information to support decision-making. The program is also expected to expand to other educational levels later in the school year.
Huerta Ávila extended special recognition to Mayor Rocío Adame for her commitment to education, and to the dedicated D.A.R.E. officers whose talks, classes, and demonstrations help promote safe, drug-free, and violence-free environments for local students.
Also in attendance were Officer Cristian Pérez, head of Preventive Programs and representative of the Secretary of Citizen Security, Héctor Manzo Ruvalcaba, along with education authorities, parents, and D.A.R.E. officers from the municipality.
