In Rosarito, a heartwarming gesture from the Volunteer Ladies of the Red Cross brought smiles and support to local families. A total of 533 school supply packages were delivered to children at El Rosario and Quinto Municipio elementary schools.
Education Delegate Juan Carlos Huerta Ávila explained that the initiative strengthens children’s education while building partnerships that improve opportunities for the community. On behalf of Secretary of Education Irma Martínez Manríquez, he expressed gratitude for the 164 packages delivered to El Rosario in Colonia Reforma and the 389 packages delivered to Quinto Municipio in Colonia Plan Libertador.
“The Secretary of Education deeply appreciates the generosity of the Volunteer Ladies of the Rosarito Red Cross,” Huerta Ávila said. “Their action not only provides materials, but also plants hope and motivation in our students.”
Volunteer Concepción Acosta reminded students that the Red Cross is committed to the entire Rosarito community, and that small actions like these help children succeed at school. She also thanked her fellow volunteers, donors, and the Education Secretariat for making the effort possible.
The day ended with a live demonstration by Red Cross paramedics, showing students how first aid is provided in emergencies—an inspiring glimpse into their important role in keeping the community safe.
