From January to August of this year, the State Commission of Public Services of Tijuana (CESPT) strengthened its workforce by training 385 employees through 25 specialized courses across multiple areas.

General Director Jesús García Castro reported that during the eight-month period, staff completed a total of 169 training hours, aimed at continuous improvement in the agency’s technical, administrative, and operational departments.

The training included safety and rescue courses such as:

  • First responder in first aid
  • High-angle rescue
  • Basic rope rescue
  • Confined space rescue
  • Fire brigade training, including the use and handling of fire extinguishers

In construction and public works, courses covered public works law, accelerated cement, construction processes, site safety, dock design, and Ram Elements: Structural analysis and design.

For infrastructure and water management, sessions included cathodic protection, topography, the Declaragua system, PUUC in wastewater, and preparation for the 2025 International Water Certification.

Specialized technical training also featured certification in safe operation of hydraulic excavators, geophysics for ground-penetrating radar, and the validation and renewal of water bills.

“These training programs reinforce CESPT’s commitment to the professional development of its staff, ensuring safe, high-quality services for the public,” García Castro said, noting that the courses were delivered through the agency’s dedicated Training Center.
