Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter and performer Flor Amargo recently visited Rosarito to collaborate on a new musical project titled Solas, a duet with regional artist Zara Gilbert of Primo Tapia. Gilbert is known in Baja California’s music scene for her emotionally resonant songs like “Estado neutral” and “Palabras muertas.”

With Solas, Amargo and Gilbert have created a series of original compositions that take listeners on a journey through themes of life, love, adventure, and friendship. The duo is preparing for a nationwide tour that will culminate in a major performance this December at Mexico City’s iconic Teatro Metropolitan.

This artistic collaboration was made possible through the efforts of Rosarito native Jorge Enrique “Kete” Salceda Galván, a respected music producer, cultural promoter, and artist dedicated to elevating the work of Baja California’s musicians on a national and international level.

Flor Amargo, who has redefined Mexico’s urban music scene, is known for her eclectic musical style—which she calls catartic pop—blending elements of pop, cumbia, classical piano, and traditional folk music. A classically trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist, she is also famous for her vibrant public performances in the streets, plazas, and metro stations of Mexico City.
