Rosarito girl is runner-up in regional tennis tourney
Tennis is a sport that enjoys great popularity in the Rosarito community, especially among children and young people.
A testament to this is Frida Ximena Mendoza Salazar from Rosarito, who secured the runner-up spot in the regional tennis tournament for the girls’ 12-and-under category.
The event was held at the High-Performance Center in Rosarito from March 14 to 16.
The young athlete competed alongside her partner, María José Alvarado Gallegos from Sonora, under the guidance of coach Héctor Aguirre.
Mr. Aguirre celebrated this achievement for Baja California and highlighted the progress of these young champions, who train at the High-Performance Tennis Center in the Punta Azul neighborhood.
This sectional tournament features representatives from the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa.
The tournament is sanctioned by the Baja California State Tennis Association, led by Rogerio Altamirano Villanueva, and the Mexican Tennis Federation.
As such, it represents a significant step in the athletic development and professional training of these young players.
Rogerio Altamirano Villanueva emphasized the tournament’s success and the positive results being produced by the Rosarito High-Performance Tennis Center.
He also noted that two additional teenagers qualified for the national tournament in the 16-and-under category, along with other promising projects in development.
