Boxers from Club Paco Cuesta, who train at the Municipal Sports Institute (IMDER), continue to achieve victories in the ring, as demonstrated this month in the city of Tijuana.
Among the young fighters who participated in the boxing matches was Enrique Caravantes, who won by knockout in the first round at 40 seconds. Another victory came from Richie, who also won by knockout in the first round at 26 seconds. Both maintain excellent records, with Caravantes winning two out of his three fights, while Richie remains undefeated with two wins.
That same day, at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium, Mardoqueo Robles participated in the “Pantera Nery” event, securing a first-round knockout victory. Robles has an impressive record of seven fights, with five knockout wins and two victories by judges’ decision.
Additionally, a binational tournament between Mexico and the United States took place in the amateur category, featuring four athletes from Club Paco Cuesta. All reached the finals, but only one, Josué Chávez, emerged as champion, while Diego Martínez, Chris Hernández, and Alexander Galeana finished as runners-up.
Among these athletes, Alexander Galeana stood out, facing one of the toughest fights of the event. Despite having only eight amateur bouts, he went up against a boxer with 140 fights, who has been both a national and U.S. champion.
Galeana’s match was decided by the judges’ decision. This young fighter is one of the rising talents shaping up to be a future boxing star in Rosarito.
